The original Kintsugi technique uses a mix of clay powder, flour, cotton, as well es many other additions coombined with Urushi laquer, to put together the broken ceramic fragments. In the course for STARTERS, we are able to use an alternative material: food-safe epoxy resin and a golden colored powder imitate, called Mica-powder - to give it the color and shine wanted. Since the original craft with Urushi takes days or weeks to dry for each applied layer, a lot more time and patience is needed - but also more perfection becomes possible. Because of a very careful application of layers over a longer time, one can form and define every single crack individually and put the wanted attention to it.
